Buyer Fraud on Amazon: A Growing Concern and Amazon’s Indifference
Amazon, the world’s largest online marketplace, boasts millions of buyers and sellers transacting daily. While this vast platform provides incredible opportunities for both parties, it also harbors significant challenges, notably buyer fraud. This phenomenon has escalated in recent years, causing immense distress to sellers who find themselves at the mercy of dishonest buyers. Despite numerous complaints, Amazon’s response to this issue has been lackluster, raising questions about its commitment to seller protection.
Amazon Only Cares for its Buyers
The sad thing is that Amazon only cares for its buyers, it has not care or give any consideration for its sellers, if a buyer on Amazon is terminated, Amazon will not longer gain revenue from this buyer, if they terminate a seller, then just another seller will takes its place with the same product.

How Much Does this cost you.
Lets say on a £8.99 FBM sale with £1.50p postage charge (Sent 2nd Class so 0.85 cost), total sale £10.49
Seller is Refunder £10.49
Buyer is charged:
- £3.30 Return Label
- £0.32 Commission
- £0.85 Initial Postage
So now on the sale you are negative £4.47 not including you order processing time etc. In other words to dispatch the order , deal with the return you lost £4.47. Amazon always wins because they have sucked up to the customer and also made £0.32p in comm
